“I have worked in oil patch related industries most of my life. I began as a welder's assistant when I was 15 years old, working through my summer holidays until I graduated from high school. I ran a loader and a wash plant at a local gravel pit for a couple of years before deciding to stick with pipelining.

“I worked for multiple companies throughout those years from small inch lines up to mainline 48” pipe. I enjoyed the work and the experience I gained would one day help me in the career path of a line locator. That opportunity came in April of 2000, and I took it more because of an allure to Rocky Mountain House than an interest in the job.

“That changed immediately once I began to train. The physical aspect of locating, the fresh air and beautiful surroundings of my new hometown created the perfect environment for me to settle into my new career. Then came the mental challenge of piecing together this underground puzzle to turn it into something that made sense. My background in pipeline became invaluable and I fully immersed myself in the job. I worked for another company for 18 years before deciding to “Go on my own” and began a new journey in my field of expertise.

“TCB has a wealth of experience, whether it is our line locating services, Ground Disturbance Co-ordination, or line crossing inspection services. We have over 40 years of combined experience in our industry.

“Positivity, hard work ethic, honesty and integrity are all values I try to instill in my family and the people who work for TCB. I truly love my job and the challenges that come with it. It can be a demanding job physically and mentally but I cannot imagine myself doing anything else.

“I have many interests outside of work which include hiking, fishing, snowboarding, river rafting and reading. I am a fan of almost anything related to the outdoors and sports. My most enjoyable moments are the ones spent with my family: rafting the North Saskatchewan and Clearwater rivers in my hometown of Rocky Mountain House, watching my boys play hockey and baseball, my daughter in Karate and basketball tournaments; or hitting the ski slopes.”
